01

Understand the role

What matters most

  • Production-Grade AI Implementation

The role emphasizes moving beyond prototypes to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable AI-enabled solutions. You must demonstrate the ability to apply engineering rigor—such as testing, observability, and security—to agentic workflows, ensuring they meet enterprise standards for production environments.

  • Orchestration and Integration

A core duty is building end-to-end solutions that integrate AI agents with existing enterprise systems, APIs, and backend services. You will need to design robust orchestration patterns, manage tool-calling, and handle complex data integrations to ensure AI agents can interact effectively with business infrastructure.

  • Reusable Asset Development

You are expected to contribute to a library of reusable components, templates, and patterns. This priority requires a focus on long-term maintainability and the creation of standardized delivery practices that accelerate future AI and automation projects across the organization.

Likely challenges to think through

  • Balancing Innovation with Enterprise Governance

The challenge lies in applying emerging AI concepts like A2A or memory patterns while adhering to strict enterprise governance and security guardrails. Prepare by discussing how you maintain high-quality engineering standards while experimenting with rapidly evolving AI technologies.

  • Translating Ambiguous Business Needs

You will work closely with domain subject matter experts who may not have technical backgrounds. The difficulty is converting high-level business requirements into precise, functional AI agent designs. Prepare by highlighting your experience in stakeholder communication and your process for iterative prototyping to validate business value.

02

Sharpen your knowledge

Topics to prepare

  • Agentic AI Orchestration Patterns

Review concepts like tool-calling, multi-agent communication (A2A), and memory management. Exercise: Design a conceptual architecture for an agent that retrieves data from an API and performs a multi-step task based on that data. This is directly relevant to the role's focus on building agentic AI solutions for enterprise use cases.

  • Enterprise Software Engineering Standards

Focus on security, observability, and maintainability in production-grade AI applications. Exercise: Draft a checklist for moving an AI prototype to production, covering error handling, logging, and human-in-the-loop controls. This addresses the requirement to deliver reliable and scalable solutions in a global enterprise environment.

Skills to revise

  • API and Backend Integration

Practice building robust backend services that integrate with external APIs and databases. Exercise: Create a Python or Java service that consumes a REST API, processes the data, and stores it in a database. This is essential for the role's core responsibility of integrating AI solutions with existing enterprise systems.

  • Cloud-Native Deployment

Familiarize yourself with deploying applications on Azure, AWS, or GCP. Exercise: Containerize a simple application and outline a deployment pipeline for a cloud environment. This aligns with the requirement for experience with cloud platforms to support production-ready implementations.

  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Workflows

Understand how to implement retrieval patterns to ground LLM responses. Exercise: Build a small script that retrieves relevant context from a local document store to answer a specific query. This is a preferred qualification for building AI-enabled applications.

04

Your preparation checklist
