Data Scientist Executive

The Sr. Data Scientist / Data Scientist Executive builds analytics-led, AI-driven solutions for OPL Innovate’s internal teams and external customers, including banks, MSMEs and retail borrowers. The role spans predictive modeling, machine learning, computer vision, NLP and LLM-based solutions, particularly for documents and images, with deployment in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze structured and unstructured data for trends and actionable insights. Design, validate, deploy and evaluate predictive, statistical and machine learning models; conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering. Models may include logistic regression, Random Forest, XGBoost and deep learning approaches.
• Build computer vision and Document AI pipelines for object detection, image classification, OCR, segmentation and information extraction from scanned documents, PDFs and images. Integrate OCR engines such as Tesseract or PaddleOCR with ML and LLM pipelines.
• Develop and fine-tune LLM pipelines for information extraction, summarization, chatbots and reasoning. Work with Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, GPT/LLaMA-based models and prompt engineering; implement RAG and multimodal solutions where applicable.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, business, marketing and leadership teams to turn business problems into data science solutions. Recommend analytical approaches and communicate findings and model outcomes to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Qualifications and skills:

• The posting lists 3–5 years of experience in data science or machine learning roles. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, statistics, mathematics or a related field is required; a relevant master’s degree is preferred.
• Mandatory technical skills include strong Python and SQL; hands-on ML development and deployment experience, including at least one production-grade ML solution; knowledge of ML fundamentals, probability, statistics and linear algebra; experience with scikit-learn, PyTorch and TensorFlow; data visualization and multidimensional analysis; and web scraping and extraction from multiple data sources.
• Preferred experience includes fintech, banking, lending or financial services; credit risk modeling, credit scoring, fraud detection or income estimation; PySpark, Spark, AWS EC2, SageMaker or other cloud platforms; MLOps and real-world model deployment; YOLO, Detectron2 or MMDetection; and multimodal AI or computer vision–LLM integrations. Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, independent ownership and problem-solving skills are also sought.
