Wearable Computing in Health Technologies( hardware, systems, AI) (full time, E13 payment)

TECO at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology offers a full-time PhD or PostDoc position in wearable computing for healthcare, with E13 payment. The work combines health hardware and sensors with AI, particularly tiny AI suitable for very small embedded systems, and forms part of KIT’s Health Tech Center.

Responsibilities

• Develop healthcare hardware and wearable-computing platforms, automated data conversion, AI-assisted data curation and diagnostics, data interpretability, and tools supporting embedded AI.
• Evaluate the work with hospitals and physicians.
• For the PostDoc position, lead and supervise wearable-computing activities, including platform development and publications.

Qualifications

• Bring a strong background in either machine learning and frameworks such as PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and pandas, or embedded hardware projects. Programming skills and systems thinking are required.
• Doctoral candidates need a Master’s degree in computer science or a related field. PostDoc candidates must demonstrate academic career potential and an excellent, high-profile publication record.
• Experience with Edge ML and hardware/software development chains is advantageous. Advanced programming, start-up experience, real running projects, and excellent grades are also advantageous.
