Gen AI Engineer

Capgemini seeks a Gen AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale AI solutions using the Microsoft AI ecosystem. The stated job location is Whippany, NJ, with an onsite/hybrid arrangement from day one; the posting also lists New York, NY as its location.

Responsibilities

• Design generative AI solutions using large language models and multimodal models. Build and optimize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems using vector databases and enterprise knowledge repositories.
• Develop intelligent agents and workflows with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or CrewAI. Engineer prompts, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks to improve accuracy, reliability, and safety; fine-tune, customize, and evaluate foundation models.
• Integrate AI with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, Microsoft platforms, and business workflows. Deploy scalable AI services and APIs on Azure, establish governance, monitoring, security, compliance, and Responsible AI controls, and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders. Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.

Required qualifications

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on generative AI.
• Strong experience with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and Microsoft Copilot; hands-on RAG and vector database experience; Python proficiency and experience with AI orchestration frameworks.
• Experience deploying AI applications with Azure and modern DevOps practices, integrating enterprise systems and APIs, and applying prompt engineering, model evaluation, AI observability, and Responsible AI principles.

Preferred qualifications include Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, or custom Copilot development; MLOps, AI governance frameworks, and enterprise security standards; and Azure AI, Azure Solutions Architect, or related Microsoft certifications.
