Principal Software Engineer - AI Platform

ZoomInfo is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - AI Platform to build intelligent systems and an agentic AI platform for customer-facing experiences, insights, and business growth. The role works with product managers, designers, and engineers and enables teams across the organization to compose, evaluate, and deploy intelligent agents.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy multi-agent systems, including communication patterns, memory structures, and orchestration logic that support reasoning, planning, and action.
• Build scalable, observable, cost-efficient production AI services using LLM technologies and reusable platform components. Help teams deliver new AI-driven features faster.
• Measure impact through feature adoption, expansion revenue, user engagement, cost per inference, infrastructure efficiency, time-to-market, customer satisfaction, churn reduction, support ticket deflection, and internal platform adoption.

Requirements

• Strong Python skills and the ability to prototype rapidly while delivering maintainable, production-grade systems. Data skills include exploring datasets, forming hypotheses, and using enrichment, transformation, or generative AI techniques.
• Experience building LLM-powered agentic systems with LangChain, LangGraph, or custom orchestration layers. Understand context retrieval, grounding, compression, vector databases, embedding stores, and RAG architectures.
• Experience assessing stochastic performance and designing metrics for prompt quality, reasoning depth, and user-perceived value; working with AWS or GCP, Docker or Kubernetes, and observability tools; and contributing to reusable AI platforms.
• Product focus, customer empathy, cost consciousness, clear communication of technical work in business terms, and ownership of business outcomes. No specific years of experience or degree requirement is stated.

The US base salary is $163,800–$257,400 annually; actual compensation depends on location and qualifications.
