About this role
PTC seeks an AI Operator Lead Engineer for its Growth Marketing AI Infrastructure team. The role designs, deploys, and scales AI agents and automated workflows for GrowthOS, working directly with marketers and technical teams to replace repetitive marketing handoffs with reliable, reusable systems.
Responsibilities
- Build agent-based workflows and reusable architectures incorporating tools, memory, orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails. Maintain prompt libraries and workflow templates; assess emerging AI technologies.
- Automate end-to-end processes connecting data, agents, and business systems using platforms such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or Claude Code. Integrate Salesforce, Eloqua, SiteCore, and internal data platforms through MCPs, APIs, and connectors.
- Establish monitoring, logging, evaluation, validation, and governance controls for output quality, security, brand integrity, and auditability. Identify failures and regressions.
- Partner with marketing teams to identify opportunities, train users, document playbooks, and drive adoption across functions and regions. Success includes measurable speed and quality gains, agents running for priority verticals, and reducing net-new campaign delivery time from months to weeks.
Required qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; 5+ years of software engineering experience; and 2+ years building and deploying production AI or LLM-powered applications. Candidates need strong Python skills; experience with LLM APIs, workflow orchestration, and enterprise application integration; understanding of prompt design, evaluation, and production AI operations; and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with multi-agent systems, agent orchestration, MCP and tool-use architectures, RAG, MLOps, AI observability, internal platforms with measurable adoption, marketing technology or demand generation, and AI governance and audit trails.
Boston-area candidates are preferred; remote U.S. candidates will be considered. Limited travel may be required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship from PTC. The anticipated annual salary range is $165,000–$253,000, with possible performance-based bonus and eligibility-dependent benefits, including health coverage, paid leave, an employee stock purchase program, and a 401(k) match.
