About this role
Afficiency seeks a DAC AI engineer based in the NYC Metro Area to design, develop, and deploy production-ready AI-driven digital applications for its life insurance business. The role combines full-stack development with generative AI, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and LLM integrations. Applications will support customer experience, underwriting, policy servicing, claims processing, agent productivity, knowledge management, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize prompts for LLMs, including OpenAI Codex, GPT, Claude, and Gemini. Build copilots, virtual assistants, intelligent agents, and RAG solutions using enterprise knowledge repositories and policy documents.
- Develop agent workflows using tools, plugins, function calling, and orchestration frameworks. Create reusable prompt libraries and AI accelerators; test and evaluate prompts, monitor AI performance, and improve accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Build modern web applications with React.js, RESTful APIs and microservices with Python Flask, and real-time integrations with enterprise systems and structured or unstructured data. Apply authentication, security, and scalability practices.
- Contribute to architecture, technology selection, proofs of concept, and prototypes. Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers, and digital product teams; follow DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile practices and maintain technical documentation and AI governance controls.
