About this role
Suno is hiring its first Product Manager dedicated to its Research organization. The role brings user understanding, evaluation, and product judgment into development of Suno’s generative music model, helping machine learning researchers prioritize improvements that matter to creators and the business.
Responsibilities
- Own evaluation frameworks and quality metrics for the foundational music model, defining what to measure and how to assess improvement.
- Understand how people create with Suno, identify where the model helps or falls short, and translate creator needs into actionable research problems.
- Partner with user-facing product managers, engineers, data scientists, and researchers to investigate real-world model behavior and improve evaluations, priorities, and capabilities.
- Bring user insight, data, and business context into research roadmap discussions and help navigate tradeoffs between research opportunities and product needs.
- Work with Research, Product, and Product Marketing to launch model improvements that users can understand and adopt. Run experiments and investigate model behavior alongside technical teams.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of product management experience, or equivalent experience building highly technical products. Experience working closely with machine learning researchers, model training teams, or AI evaluation systems is required.
- Strong technical intuition about complex machine learning concepts, sound product judgment, first-principles thinking, and the ability to bring structure to ambiguous research problems. A technical foundation, ideally in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field, is sought. Candidates should thrive in fast-moving, iterative environments and be interested in AI, creativity, and music.
- Bonus qualifications include experience at a frontier AI lab or foundation model team; designing or building AI evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, or human evaluation systems; and working with large-scale datasets, data quality, or annotation pipelines.
Work and compensation: Applicants must be eligible to work in the US. The role is based in Boston or San Francisco, requires working from the designated Suno office five days a week, and involves quarterly travel for larger team meetings. Base salary is $250K–$330K before equity.
