Forward Deployed AI Engineer

TENEX.AI is an AI-native managed detection and response provider. The Forward Deployed AI Engineer works within strategic customer accounts to identify security and workflow problems, build tailored solutions using AI, data and security expertise, and bring reusable findings back into TENEX’s platform. This is a full-time, hybrid role listed in Kansas City, MO; San Jose, CA; Sarasota, FL; and Scottsdale, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Learn each assigned customer’s environment, workflows and security challenges, then move from discovery and documentation through building and shipping a working solution.
• Develop automations, integrations, AI-assisted workflows, data pipelines and security-tooling extensions for needs that existing tools do not address.
• Document solutions for review, refinement and potential use by other customers. Surface data opportunities, intelligence gaps and recurring customer needs to the AI & Data Science function.
• Maintain relationships with customer technical stakeholders, manage multiple active accounts and escalate blockers or account risks when appropriate.

Requirements

• At least 3 years in software engineering, security engineering or a technical customer-facing role, including experience solving complex technical problems directly with customers.
• Strong Python or other general-purpose programming skills, such as Go or TypeScript; familiarity with AI/ML tooling, data pipelines or data engineering; and knowledge of security operations, SIEM/SOAR, cloud security or endpoint security.
• Ability to prototype and ship solutions in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, write thorough technical documentation, troubleshoot problems and collaborate effectively with customers.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred

Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Google Cloud Professional, Microsoft SC-200 or AZ-500, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, are a plus. TENEX states that the role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, without providing amounts.
