About this role
Dexmate seeks an Applied AI Engineer to build AI-powered features for its software and Physical AI platform, which combines robotic hardware with a Physical AI OS. The role turns foundation models into production agents that can reason, use tools, take actions, and interact reliably with users and robots.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy production-grade agents with tool calling, multi-step workflows, context, and memory; build chatbot and agent experiences for digital and Physical AI applications.
- Develop evaluations, guardrails, fallback behavior, and observability. Integrate LLMs, multimodal models, APIs, and platform tools into end-to-end workflows.
- Own features from system design and implementation through rollout and production monitoring.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software or ML engineering experience, plus hands-on experience building production LLM or agentic applications.
- Experience with tool calling, RAG or context systems, prompting, orchestration, or evaluation; strong Python and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with multimodal models, vision-language models (VLM), vision-language-action models (VLA), or robotics is a plus.
This is a full-time, on-site role at the Fremont office in California, United States. Compensation is $120,000–$300,000 USD per year.
