Responsibilities
- Architect and implement resilient, high-load backend systems; develop reliable ways to acquire and structure large volumes of external data.
- Build high-throughput pipelines to ingest, validate, process and route data to applications, warehouses and third-party systems. Integrate practical ML models for tasks such as text classification, NLP and scoring.
- Optimize storage and retrieval across relational databases and data warehouses. Evaluate emerging data-engineering and applied-AI tools and recommend useful additions.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience building data-intensive applications, plus expert-level Python for system development and data processing.
- Experience handling complex, unstructured external data at scale and integrating ML into production workflows, using libraries such as scikit-learn or spaCy for classification, entity extraction or scoring.
- Strong data-modeling and database performance-tuning skills; experience designing and consuming complex APIs; and experience building and deploying applications in AWS, GCP or Azure.
Preferred qualifications include Snowflake experience, containerized deployments with Docker or Kubernetes, orchestration tools such as Airflow or Celery, and a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
