AI Engineer

HAVI seeks an AI Engineer to design, build and deploy scalable, production-ready AI solutions for predictive and prescriptive analytics in supply chain planning and operations. The role is a hybrid, individual-contributor position based at 345 N Morgan St, Chicago, IL 60607. Candidates must live in the Chicago metropolitan area; relocation assistance is not offered.

Responsibilities

• Partner with solutions architects, data scientists, data management, decision science and technology teams to move analytics solutions from prototype through production and ongoing operations. Applications include promotions, demand and supply planning, replenishment, pricing, item and menu analytics, supply chain simulations and optimization, competitive benchmarking, and root-cause analysis.
• Collect, clean and preprocess large structured and unstructured datasets; design and train machine learning and deep learning models; select suitable approaches such as classification, regression, NLP or computer vision.
• Deploy models through APIs or cloud platforms, monitor performance, retrain when needed, and improve solutions as AI practices evolve. Experiment with architectures such as transformers and GANs, translate business problems into AI solutions, and implement agentic AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information systems, information science or a related field is required; an advanced degree in one of these fields is preferred.
• At least 2 years of hands-on Azure Databricks experience with PySpark or Scala, Spark SQL and Delta Lake. Experience with Azure Data Factory orchestration and integration with ADLS Gen2 and Key Vault; strong SQL and large-dataset performance tuning; data quality, monitoring, alerting and debugging or backfill practices.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, unit and integration testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Azure observability and cloud cost or performance management. Demonstrated collaboration with analytics, data governance, product and security stakeholders is required. Relevant AI, ML, cloud or MLOps certifications are a plus.

Compensation and benefits: The salary range is $105,000–$125,000 with a 5% targeted bonus.
