About this role

Lowe's seeks a Data Scientist for its Launchpad program at its on-site Tech Hub in Charlotte, North Carolina. The full-time role supports data science initiatives under the guidance of senior colleagues, solving business problems and helping develop automated self-service solutions that enable partners to interpret data and build data products. Candidates must be available to start Monday, January 25, 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Mine and extract data; apply statistics, machine learning and deep learning to generate insights and develop business solutions. Conduct statistical analysis, including predictive and prescriptive modeling.
  • Work with senior scientists to translate business requirements into analytical approaches. Help identify data sources, methods, parameters and procedures; gather and analyze data; and discuss findings with the team.
  • Develop scalable, implementable recommendations, measure the impact of solutions, and potentially communicate project scope and timelines to stakeholders. Follow enterprise product and project management practices and stay current with relevant techniques and technologies.

Minimum qualifications: A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, engineering, computer science, data, information science or a related quantitative field; 1 year of SQL and programming experience; and 2 years of experience executing and deploying data science, machine learning, deep learning and generative AI solutions, preferably in a large-scale enterprise setting.

Preferred qualifications

A master's degree in a listed or related quantitative field, 1 year of experience using multiple data systems and sources, and 1 year of experience working with cross-functional partners.

Launchpad begins with a one-week orientation and an eight-week coached bootcamp with assessments and individual and group projects. Two rotations span 12 months, providing hands-on work and professional development, followed by placement with a Tech team.
