About this role
State Street Investment Management’s Data, Analytics and AI Services team seeks an Agentic AI Builder, Officer, to design, prototype and implement governed AI-enabled workflows across investment, product, client, finance and operations functions. The role works with business stakeholders, AI product managers, data engineers, platform teams and control partners to deliver measurable workflow automation.
Responsibilities
- Understand business processes, pain points, decisions and desired outcomes; rapidly prototype, test and implement scalable agentic AI workflows.
- Build AI agents, multi-agent workflows and semi-autonomous systems using approved data products, semantic layers and enterprise AI platforms.
- Establish human-in-the-loop and human-on-the-loop controls, monitoring, alerts, escalation paths and performance measures.
- Use agentic frameworks, AI-assisted development tools, IDEs, prompt engineering and reusable tools to accelerate development and validate business value. Support model and agent testing, documentation, token and cost optimization, and responsible AI governance.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, mathematics or a related quantitative or technical field; a strong engineering foundation and ability to turn ambiguous business problems into working solutions.
- Hands-on interest or experience in generative or agentic AI, prompt engineering, AI-assisted development, workflow automation or related software engineering. Familiarity with large language models, agent frameworks or tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Google Gemini Enterprise and AWS Bedrock.
- Programming experience with Python, SQL or comparable languages, including prototyping, data-source integration and workflow testing. Awareness of governance, data controls, model risk, security, auditability and operational resilience in a regulated enterprise.
The stated annual salary range for the primary location is $70,000–$118,750; the applicable range may differ elsewhere. Benefits include a 401(k) with company match, insurance, paid time off, an employee assistance program and potential annual performance-based awards.
