Software AI Engineer

About this role

AutoStore is hiring a Software AI Engineer in Atlanta, GA, USA, to help engineering teams build AI capabilities into products for warehouse automation. The engineer will work across teams as an AI subject matter expert, delivering production systems whose outputs may drive or inform physical hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship AI agents connected to data sources and tools, using retrieval, API integration and multi-step orchestration.
  • Deploy and operate AI on cloud infrastructure, balancing production cost, performance and scale.
  • Apply optimization and machine learning to operational problems such as robot fleet routing and coordination.
  • Develop time-series forecasting, anomaly detection and predictive analytics for sensor, equipment and other operational telemetry.
  • Deliver models that meet the reliability demands of physical systems.

Required qualifications

  • 3–5 years building and deploying ML or AI systems in production, rather than only in research or prototypes.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on LLM agent development experience, including retrieval-augmented generation, tool and API integration, and multi-step orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience operating models in the cloud and understanding cost, latency and scaling tradeoffs; applied optimization or ML experience with routing, scheduling, coordination or comparable problems; and time-series modeling and forecasting experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed teams across time zones.

Preferred qualifications

A master's degree and experience with hard-tech or physical systems where models run against real hardware under reliability constraints.
