Google DeepMind seeks a Technical Lead Manager in Singapore to lead the development and deployment of scalable applications built with Google's generative AI models. The role translates research advances into customer-facing products and works across engineering, research and product teams to deliver new features and product impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design and 0-to-1 development of scalable products and applications using generative AI models.
- Guide rapid feature development and iteration based on evaluation results; oversee software performance and the reliability of deployed applications.
- Collaborate with researchers and product managers to turn research into product features and identify new project opportunities.
- Mentor and develop engineers, foster a high-performing team, and advocate best practices for building and deploying generative AI applications.
Minimum qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; 8 years of software development experience in one or more languages such as Python, C, C++, Java or JavaScript; 7 years leading technical projects and optimizing ML infrastructure, including model deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging or fine-tuning; at least 5 years in a people leadership role; and 5 years in one or more ML fields, such as media generation, reinforcement learning or infrastructure. The role calls for end-to-end product development, strong software engineering and the ability to deliver high-quality code while guiding a team.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with generative AI applications and model-performance improvement, front-end development, cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, and ML frameworks or libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and Hugging Face. Experience shipping products rapidly in a customer-facing, startup-like environment and contributions to open-source projects are also preferred. English proficiency is required.
