About this role
Cloudera’s Forward Deployed Engineering team works within Applied AI to help strategic enterprise customers pilot and operationalize AI. This Singapore-based, hybrid role embeds with customers to design use cases and deliver scalable AI/ML solutions on Cloudera.
Responsibilities
- Build and prototype full-stack AI/ML applications that demonstrate enterprise uses for AI and agentic systems. Partner with customer teams to move use cases from early prototypes toward production readiness.
- Advise technical and executive customer leaders on AI roadmaps, solution architecture, deployment and use-case design. Turn successful work into repeatable reference architectures, productized solutions, starter kits and internal playbooks.
- Mentor Cloudera teams, contribute enablement resources and relay field and customer feedback to Product teams to improve the AI platform and products.
Qualifications
- 7+ years building and deploying production-grade systems, including 2–4 years building ML systems or GenAI/agentic applications.
- Hands-on software engineering, data engineering and applied AI/ML experience, including full-stack ML applications or agentic systems built with modern AI frameworks and tools.
- Experience with foundation models, context engineering, fine-tuning, semantic search, RAG and agentic workflows. Understand LLMOps/MLOps practices such as evaluation, observability, serving, monitoring and lifecycle management.
- Ability to design scalable AI architectures consistent with enterprise security, governance and compliance standards; engage technical and executive customers; work autonomously in ambiguous environments; and collaborate and mentor others.
Additional experience that may be useful includes AWS, Azure or GCP; the Cloudera platform; open-source big-data technologies such as Spark, Iceberg or NiFi; and AI infrastructure such as NVIDIA GPUs, inference optimization, model serving or distributed AI workloads.
