About this role
The AI Integration Engineer joins the Integrated Solutions Digital Technology team to connect its Digital Twin platform with enterprise and building systems. This hands-on role builds secure, agentic workflows that let AI interact with building operations under human supervision, contributing to autonomous-building capabilities and critical infrastructure operations.
Responsibilities
- Design integrations between Digital Twins and CMMS, ticketing and notification platforms, building management systems, SCADA, IoT devices, CCTV analytics and security systems.
- Develop Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools through which large language models can safely query and update the Digital Twin. Build REST APIs for agentic workflows to trigger operations, retrieve sensor data and interact with external systems.
- Implement automation pipelines that let AI agents initiate standard operating procedures, change presets, launch incident playbooks and dispatch external tasks. Apply human-in-the-loop controls, audit trails, permissions and safeguards to critical operations.
- Work with the AI Systems Architect, product team and facilities-management partners to turn business requirements into scalable integrations. Own designs, lead implementation and contribute to architecture decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years in backend or integration engineering, with a proven record of building APIs and integration platforms; hands-on expertise with code, low-code or no-code integration tools.
- Strong REST API design and implementation skills using Node.js, Python, Go or similar technologies. Experience integrating ERP, CMMS, IoT platforms or building management systems, including systems such as Honeywell or Johnson Controls.
- Familiarity with authentication and security practices, including OAuth, API keys, encryption and audit logging. Strong communication, cross-team collaboration and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn new tools and frameworks. Knowledge of building-system protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MQTT and REST is a significant advantage.
Preferred
Experience with LLMs or AI agents and their tool interactions; built-environment, real-estate technology or facility-management software; or APIs for Revit, SketchUp, Grasshopper or other 3D platforms.
