EY GDS seeks a Snowflake Senior Data Engineer in its AI & Data practice to deliver secure, production-ready data products that support analytics, operational decisions and responsible AI. The listed location is Trivandrum, with “Anywhere in Country” given as an additional location. Salary is described as competitive.
Responsibilities
- Lead data-product workstreams from design through production. Build Snowflake solutions using warehouses, dynamic tables, Snowpark, streams, tasks and Snowpipe. Design batch and streaming pipelines, data models, quality checks, service-level expectations and documented data contracts.
- Implement ingestion, transformation, orchestration and testing with SQL, Python, Snowpark, dbt or comparable patterns. Resolve performance, reliability and cost issues; establish reusable standards and guide code reviews.
- Use Snowflake Cortex capabilities where appropriate to build governed AI-ready data products. Support retrieval, semantic search, evaluation and safety; assess when RAG or agent workflows are warranted. Develop scoped prompts, context assembly, agent skills and approved MCP integrations with access controls, validation and traceability.
- Apply Snowflake governance, lineage, RBAC, masking and row access policies. Maintain automated tests, CI/CD, monitoring, alerts, release controls and runbooks. Work with data scientists, security, analytics and business stakeholders; mentor engineers and communicate delivery risks.
Requirements
5–8 years of relevant data engineering, analytics engineering, platform engineering or comparable consulting experience. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science or a related field is requested; equivalent practical experience is considered. Production delivery with Python, PySpark and SQL is required, along with Snowpark experience, modern data modelling, distributed processing and cloud data security. The role also calls for API integrations, data contracts, deployment automation, strong communication and the ability to explain technical trade-offs.
Preferred
SnowPro Core or advanced Snowflake certification; experience with RAG, semantic search, agent workflows or LLM evaluation; regulated-industry experience; and familiarity with data mesh, event-driven architecture or FinOps.
