About this role
Alignerr is seeking Back End Developers to design, build, and optimize the server-side systems and APIs that drive AI products, including data pipelines and model-serving infrastructure. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role with a commitment of 10-40 hours per week. Responsibilities: Design and maintain robust back end services and APIs; build scalable server-side architecture for AI training and inference workloads; write clean, testable code; integrate with databases, message queues, and cloud services; optimize system performance and reliability; and collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams. Requirements: Proficiency in back end languages such as Python, Go, Java, Node.js, or Rust; solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and distributed systems; experience with relational or NoSQL databases; familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Git, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); and strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience building infrastructure for machine learning or AI systems; familiarity with data processing frameworks like Apache Kafka, Spark, or Airflow; background in performance optimization, caching, or high-throughput systems; knowledge of security best practices; and experience with serverless or event-driven architectures.
