Principal Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions Architect

Sensata Technologies seeks a hands-on Principal Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions Architect in Pune, India, to define, build and govern its enterprise AI technical foundation. Reporting to the Artificial Intelligence Leader, the role combines architecture strategy with prototyping and implementation of production systems. It supports AI priorities across engineering, procurement, supply chain, operations, legal, quality and commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Define the AI architecture roadmap and reusable reference architectures, integration patterns, design standards, playbooks and technical documentation. Translate business needs into scalable solutions aligned with enterprise technology, data, security, privacy and compliance requirements.
• Design end-to-end AI systems spanning data pipelines, model development, deployment, monitoring, evaluation and lifecycle management. Set guardrails for generative AI, machine learning, LLMs, RAG, agents, APIs and model integration.
• Prototype and deliver AI capabilities, including RAG, LLM workflows and agents, document intelligence and enterprise search, integrated with ERP, MES, PLM and other enterprise systems. Establish data standards for semantic models, metadata, taxonomy, lineage and access.
• Implement production-readiness practices including evaluation datasets, hallucination testing, human-in-the-loop processes and observability. Guide testing, governance and cost optimization; validate vendors through prototypes and benchmarks, lead build-versus-buy analysis and prioritize use cases by value, scalability, risk and speed.
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, product, security, legal, compliance and business teams; mentor delivery teams and communicate architecture tradeoffs and risks to senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Requires a university degree, such as a bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant work experience, plus 8+ years delivering production AI/ML solutions with hands-on engineering experience.
• Requires expertise in LLMs, RAG, vector databases and agent-based systems; experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel and OpenAI or Azure OpenAI; enterprise AI integration and data ecosystem knowledge; and demonstrated vendor evaluation and build-versus-buy leadership.
• Requires communication, collaboration, organization and time-management skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and professional spoken and written English. Preferred: experience with the Microsoft/Azure AI stack, including Azure OpenAI, AI Search, Fabric and Power Platform.
