Lead Software Engineer (Python/AI)

This Pune-based role leads AI-driven innovation and production automation across the product delivery lifecycle for Nasdaq’s AxiomSL regulatory reporting platform. The engineer works with colleagues in Pune and other countries to improve how the platform is developed, tested, delivered and operated.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and implement AI/ML solutions for product development, testing, delivery and operations. Design and deploy production-grade automation pipelines, frameworks and tools at scale.
• Own the architecture of scalable, resilient and maintainable AI and automation capabilities aligned with the AxiomSL platform and enterprise standards. Write well-tested Python code for AI models, automation frameworks, integrations and production tooling.
• Develop automated testing strategies and ensure solutions meet production-readiness and quality standards. Adapt solutions to regulatory, data and business domains.
• Partner with engineers, architects, QA, business analysts, product leaders and customers; mentor colleagues and communicate progress, risks and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in software development, architecture, testing and productization of enterprise-grade solutions, with strong Python coding proficiency.
• Experience designing, building, deploying and maintaining AI/ML models or intelligent automation solutions, plus a track record of production-grade automation pipelines, CI/CD workflows and developer tooling at scale.
• Ability to learn new problem domains, independently lead initiatives, manage competing priorities, communicate effectively and mentor others. A master’s degree or double degree in a discipline related to computer science and the industry, or equivalent work experience, is required.

Additional experience with Java, SQL or Bash is an advantage. Experience with regulatory reporting platforms, risk data aggregation, data lineage or the AxiomSL/Nasdaq product suite is preferred.
