Data Science Manager - Supply Chain & Manufacturing

ZS seeks a Data Science Manager in its Advanced Data Science group to lead AI, machine learning and analytics engagements for supply chain and manufacturing clients. The role uses large, complex structured and unstructured datasets to model business problems, uncover insights and support fact-based decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale client engagements and the end-to-end development and deployment of AI, machine learning and data science solutions.
• Architect predictive models, optimization algorithms and statistical analyses; apply mining and visualization techniques to identify opportunities.
• Direct multiple projects, mentor data scientists and other project team members, and develop scalable data science capabilities and client offerings.
• Manage client relationships, contribute to business strategy, develop and sell new opportunities, and provide thought leadership through research and publication.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or a related discipline and at least 8 years of relevant post-collegiate work experience. In lieu of a PhD, 10 or more years of work experience may substitute.
• Hands-on experience applying AI and machine learning to demand planning, forecasting, supply planning, inventory management or logistics; experience leading multidisciplinary teams across projects.
• Experience with big data, claims analytics and techniques such as text mining, social listening, recommender systems, predictive modeling, generative AI and large language models; a programming background such as Python or R.
• Proven business development, agile project planning, project management, team management and skill development experience, plus strong communication, attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Healthcare or pharmaceutical domain knowledge is preferred.

Working arrangements and benefits:

• Based in Pune, Bengaluru or Gurgaon, India. The hybrid model combines working from home with presence at client sites or ZS offices for the majority of the week. Client-facing employees must be prepared to travel as needed.
