EDMO is hiring an AI Lead in Pune to own and scale its document, conversational, and data intelligence capabilities for universities and institutions. The role turns prototypes into reliable, secure, production-grade AI services integrated with customer systems and leads a small AI team.
Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end AI architecture and delivery plans for multi-tenant, cloud-native services. Set standards for prompting, agent and tool orchestration, RAG, fine-tuning, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Lead document-understanding pipelines for transcripts, forms, financial documents, policies, and knowledge bases, including OCR, layout analysis, extraction, classification, validation, and summarization. Build retrieval over large document collections and evaluate accuracy, robustness, and latency.
- Architect chat and voice assistants for web, mobile, and telephony. Build workflows using LLMs, APIs, memory, and business rules; establish guardrails and measure conversation quality, containment, satisfaction, and escalations.
- Oversee real-time and batch integrations with CRMs, student information systems, telephony, and data platforms. Ensure tenant isolation, permissions, and customer-specific configuration; work with implementation teams on repeatable deployments.
- Collaborate on data models and pipelines, develop scoring, routing, prioritization, and personalization capabilities, and track AI performance, adoption, and business impact through KPIs, dashboards, experiments, and staged rollouts.
- Maintain service reliability, observability, privacy, and security practices, including monitoring, encryption, access controls, data retention, versioning, canary deployments, and rollbacks. Mentor engineers and data scientists, contribute to hiring, and work with product, engineering, customer teams, and customers.
Requirements
6–10 years in software engineering and/or applied ML, including at least 4–5 years building AI products. Candidates must have taken LLM or traditional ML solutions from proof of concept to production in SaaS or enterprise settings. Hands-on experience is required with LLM orchestration, document understanding, and conversational AI with measurable outcomes. The role also requires strong programming in Python, Node.js, Java/Scala, or similar; cloud-native services, containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code; enterprise-system integrations; and familiarity with security and compliance in regulated industries such as education, healthcare, or finance. The position is full-time.
