AI Engineer - MDM

Eaton seeks an AI Engineer - MDM to develop and maintain AI-enabled capabilities for Master Data Management (MDM). The role focuses on improving the quality, consistency and completeness of master data, automating processes, and making data stewardship more effective across enterprise systems, digital platforms and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain AI-enabled solutions, reusable components and automation workflows for MDM, data quality, stewardship and business decision-making. Work with data stewards, business users, IT and governance teams to translate requirements into solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Support new MDM deployments through data readiness, migration, validation, cleansing and mapping. Analyze data patterns, recurring issues and process gaps to identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
• Integrate AI capabilities with MDM platforms, enterprise data systems, reporting tools and workflow applications. Document designs, business rules, assumptions, test outcomes and operating procedures.
• Build validation, monitoring and feedback mechanisms to assess the accuracy, explainability, consistency and business suitability of AI outputs. Support human-in-the-loop reviews and approvals, with accountability remaining with data and process owners. Follow responsible AI, privacy, cybersecurity, access-control and governance requirements.
• Measure adoption, performance and business impact; improve solutions based on feedback and outcomes. Partner with architecture teams on scalability and maintainability, and guide end users in responsible use of AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML or a related field, and 4–6 years of experience in AI/ML, analytics, automation, MDM or data governance.
• Knowledge of MDM, product data management, data quality, data governance, AI/GenAI, machine learning, prompt engineering and data analysis. Knowledge of Stibo STEP/PIM and its migration, validation, cleansing and mapping processes; experience with Python, SQL, Snowflake and Power BI.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, communicate across business and technical groups, prioritize tasks, and apply analytical and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of SAP, APIs and workflow automation tools is preferred; Snowflake is also listed among the preferred knowledge areas.

The position is hybrid in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Relocation assistance is limited to relocation within the hiring country.
