AI Solutions Lead

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine’s APAC Business Technology Team seeks an AI Solutions Lead to design, build and deploy scalable AI, generative AI and data science solutions that improve commercial effectiveness, customer engagement and business decision-making. The role is based in PENJERLA, Telangana, India, with a hybrid work pattern.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Business, Commercial Excellence, Marketing and Technology teams to frame use cases, understand data, define requirements and success metrics, and deliver solutions through modelling, development, testing, deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Build and support agentic AI solutions using prompt engineering, RAG, tool orchestration, validation and evaluation. Implement LLMOps governance for models and prompts, including versioning, evaluation and monitoring.
• Meet enterprise standards for quality, reliability, latency and cost. Incorporate responsible AI, security and compliance in collaboration with Risk, Legal and Security.
• Apply software engineering and DevOps practices; support observability, incident resolution and cost optimization. Develop reusable solution patterns and components, evaluate emerging tools, and lead proofs of concept through to production-ready solutions.
• Explain options, trade-offs and risks to business and technical stakeholders, working with product owners, data engineers, architects and vendors.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in AI, data science, machine learning, advanced analytics or software engineering, including at least 3 years building and deploying AI/ML or generative AI solutions in production. Experience delivering across the full solution lifecycle is required.
• Experience designing scalable architectures spanning cloud, data, models and applications; operating generative or agentic AI solutions; integrating with enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms and workflows; and implementing MLOps/LLMOps, governance, evaluation and monitoring.
• Practical experience with platforms such as Databricks, Azure, AWS, Azure ML or AWS Bedrock; software engineering and DevOps practices; and strong Python and SQL skills. The role also requires business problem-solving, communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred qualifications include PySpark or distributed data processing experience; AI or analytics work in FMCG, retail or e-commerce commercial use cases; and education or fundamentals in machine learning, statistics, advanced analytics and experimentation.
