About this role
WSP seeks a Landscape AI & Computational Design Specialist to integrate AI, data analytics and computational design into landscape architecture, master planning and public realm projects. The role aims to improve design quality, delivery efficiency and data-driven decisions through tools and workflows that project teams can adopt across the studio. The posting lists Mumbai, Bengaluru and Noida locations in India and describes WSP’s hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI solutions and computational design workflows using tools such as Grasshopper, Rhino, Dynamo, Python and generative design platforms.
- Use GIS, spatial analytics, environmental modelling and predictive analysis to inform design. Build AI-assisted tools for planting design, public realm planning, walkability, mobility and environmental performance assessments.
- Automate design, documentation, quality assurance and quality control, and reporting. Develop landscape-specific AI agents, scripts and repeatable digital workflows.
- Work with landscape architects, urban designers, planners, BIM specialists and digital engineering teams. Evaluate emerging technologies; create guidance, standards and training materials; and support bids, competitions and innovation initiatives with visualization, analytics and scenario modelling.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field; experience applying AI, computational design or advanced digital workflows in the built environment. No minimum number of years is stated.
- Strong working knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, Python, GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS, Dynamo and visual programming. Experience creating design automation tools, scripts or repeatable workflows; understanding of generative AI, machine learning, automation, digital twins and responsible AI.
- Ability to turn landscape and urban design challenges into scalable digital solutions, communicate technical concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders, and work in multidisciplinary design consultancies or project delivery environments.
Preferred experience includes landscape, public realm or master planning projects; environmental modelling, climate resilience, biodiversity analytics and sustainable design frameworks; Power BI, AI copilots, large language models and design automation platforms; BIM, digital engineering or digital twin initiatives; scripting, cloud computing and AI deployment environments; and support for regional project delivery across KSA, UAE and the wider Middle East.
