Senior Applied Scientist, International Machine Learning

Join Amazon’s International Machine Learning team to develop scalable machine learning solutions for India Consumer Businesses and other emerging markets across MENA and Latin America. The role focuses on customer value, business operations, and problems affecting business performance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large volumes of historical business data to identify opportunities to automate and optimize processes.
• Design, develop, evaluate, deploy, and maintain scalable predictive models; research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches.
• Establish efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, validation, implementation, and maintenance.
• Partner with software engineers on real-time model implementations and new features, and with business owners, operations staff, and product managers to identify problems and put solutions into production.
• Lead projects and mentor scientists and engineers in machine learning techniques.

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications.
• PhD or master’s degree; programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or a related language.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLlib, MXNet, TensorFlow, NumPy, or SciPy.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop or Spark.
