Gen AI-AI and Data Science Engineer III

Deloitte’s AI & Data team seeks a Gen AI-AI and Data Science Engineer III to design and deliver large-scale AI and generative AI solutions for clients across industries. The position is listed in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, or Chennai.

Responsibilities

• Lead discussions with business and functional analysts and client teams to clarify requirements, understand business problems, and assess integration impacts on business architecture.
• Prepare technical architecture and designs; develop solutions against established designs, integration standards, and quality processes. Create and enforce development guides, templates, and standards, and write templates or scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Deliver AI and generative AI projects from inception through implementation with data engineers, ML/AI engineers, prompt engineers, and other specialists. Build and improve models, identify opportunities for improvement, and apply best practices.
• Facilitate daily scrum meetings, manage deliverables, prepare weekly leadership status reports, review team deliverables, and provide technical guidance. Contribute to pre-sales efforts, client pursuits, and proposals.

Required qualifications

• 6–10 years of relevant hands-on experience in generative AI, deep learning, or NLP, and a BE, B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc, or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, CUDA, SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras. Experience with LLM offerings including OpenAI GPT-3.5/4, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, LLaMA 3.0, and Mistral, as well as RAG and agentic workflows.
• Understanding of GANs and transformer architectures, knowledge of diffusion models, and familiarity with current generative AI research. Ability to interpret research papers and propose approaches for generative AI components. Knowledge of NVIDIA, AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle offerings and tools such as Copilot and Vertex AI.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of vector databases, Neo4j or other graph databases; familiarity with Docker and Git; and an AI or cloud certification from a premier institute.
