About this role
General Mills seeks a Machine Learning Engineer II for its Enterprise Data Capabilities Organization in Digital and Technology India. The role focuses on operationalizing AI and machine learning models through scalable, sustainable data and model pipelines, and recommending ways to automate MLOps pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Responsibilities
- Implement and support end-to-end MLOps pipelines using GCP, Vertex AI, Airflow, Kubeflow and related tools.
- Build and maintain feature engineering, deployment, monitoring, retraining, and CI/CD and continuous training pipelines for production ML solutions.
- Manage the ML model lifecycle, including performance optimization and operational support. Recommend MLOps standards and follow coding, version-control and documentation practices.
- Collaborate with data science, data engineering, cloud platform and MLOps teams; communicate progress, risks and outcomes, share knowledge, and adopt emerging MLOps practices.
Required qualifications
A full-time bachelor’s degree; 6+ years of analytical experience, including at least 3+ years in AI and machine learning. Candidates need expertise in data transformation and manipulation with BigQuery or SQL; professional experience with Vertex AI and GCP services; strong Python skills for designing and running ML pipelines with Airflow, Cloud Composer or Kubeflow; and experience building and maintaining project-specific custom containers. Strong written and verbal communication across technical and nontechnical teams is required, along with an interest in agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability and systematic experimentation.
Preferred qualifications
Google Cloud Platform Machine Learning certification, understanding of the consumer-packaged goods industry, and strong knowledge of core machine learning algorithms. The full-time role is hybrid, with locations in Powai, Mumbai, and Pune. Applicants must meet the minimum age requirements in the country where the job is located.
