Senior Sales Engineer

Zendesk is seeking a highly technical Senior Sales Engineer to drive the deployment of Agentic AI workflows and Large Language Models (LLMs) for global enterprise customers. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise software strategy, systems architecture, and advanced AI automation. You will act as a strategic advisor to C-suite and engineering leadership, owning the technical strategy for customer engagements.

Responsibilities

• Architect and operationalize agentic AI-driven customer workflows using LLMs, prompt engineering, and automation frameworks.
• Conduct technical discovery and AI readiness assessments, translating requirements into scalable proofs-of-concept (POCs).
• Develop reusable technical accelerators, middleware templates, and API components for regional teams and Systems Integrators.
• Own the technical sales lifecycle from qualification through execution, designing secure topologies using Zendesk APIs and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to provide field feedback and shape the AI platform roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative technical discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in technical presales, solution engineering, or system architecture within enterprise SaaS.
• Deep expertise in web/scripting technologies (Python, Node.js, JavaScript), APIs, and cloud architectures.
• Foundational knowledge of AI/ML, including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and autonomous agent deployment.
• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure, contact center tech stacks (CCaaS), or ITSM systems.
• Ability to travel 30-50% annually for on-site customer sessions.
• Must be based in and work from Karnataka or Maharashtra, India.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or professional cloud/AI certifications.
• Active engagement in technical communities (open-source, blogging, mentorship).
• Experience designing reusable implementation guides and integration playbooks.
• Ability to present complex technical narratives to executive stakeholders.
