Nike is seeking a visionary Principal Software Engineer – Generative AI to join its Tech Center in India. This leadership role focuses on shaping the future of Nike’s data-driven platforms through advanced AI/ML frameworks and robust software architecture. The successful candidate will guide teams through technical ambiguity, establish engineering standards, and drive organizational change at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural vision, design, and implementation of large-scale data and AI platforms.
- Champion best practices in agentic AI systems, cloud-based ML infrastructure, and code quality.
- Mentor senior engineers and provide thought leadership to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to align engineering roadmaps with business priorities.
- Drive adoption of MLOps, DevOps, automation, and agile methodologies.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of critical projects and ensure compliance with security and privacy standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or related fields (Master’s in AI/ML/GenAI highly desirable).
- 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or principal capacity.
- Extensive expertise in building and scaling AI platforms using AWS SageMaker, Databricks, Azure ML, or Google Vertex AI.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or Go.
- Proven track record of deploying large-scale ML models in production.
- Experience with LLMs, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Spark, and cloud-native MLOps tools.
- Strong background in Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with agentic workflows and enterprise AI/LLM application development.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
