Software Developer – Senior I – RPA / AI Engineer

This RPA / AI Engineer role supports FedEx Information Security by analyzing business processes and building scalable automation, AI agents and AI-driven chatbots for cross-functional teams. The agents must be able to reason and interact with users and other systems. The position is based in Hyderabad and requires willingness to work in the office four days per week.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design process workflows; build, test, implement and support RPA and AI solutions while maintaining system quality.
• Assess AI opportunities and technical feasibility, develop solutions, and contribute reusable Solution Design Documents or Technical Design Documents.
• Coordinate with IT teams and architects on technology choices, improve existing processes, fix code errors and deliver iteratively in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• 7–9 years of overall experience, including a minimum of 3–6 years of relevant work in RPA, AI agent development, generative AI chatbots, NLP or related technologies. A separate general Senior I qualification states four years of relevant application or software design and development experience.
• Strong Automation Anywhere RPA development experience; ability to build Google Cloud Platform agents that solve complex, multi-step problems through reasoning and iterative planning; and proficiency building chatbots with retrieval-augmented generation and vector-based search.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Java or C#; experience with NLP libraries and chatbot platforms; understanding of machine learning frameworks; knowledge of RESTful API integration; familiarity with SQL and NoSQL; and basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript for web integration.
• Analytical, debugging, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, plus experience with end-to-end AI management and the Agile software development lifecycle. The general education qualification lists a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, MIS or a related discipline; the role-specific section describes a Computer Science or related degree as preferred.

Preferred or advantageous: LLM-powered automation, AI orchestration and conversational AI platforms, enterprise-scale intelligent automation, Microsoft Power Apps Automation, Co-Pilot AI, OCR tools, Power BI, and practical experience with LEAN, Agile and Design Thinking.
