Senior Specialist, Platform Analytics AI ( Python and AWS)

The Senior Specialist, Platform Analytics AI designs, develops, automates and supports enterprise AI, generative AI and MLOps platform capabilities at Novartis. The role works with business, data science, engineering, architecture and security teams to deliver scalable, secure and compliant services that support AI adoption.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate MLOps, LLMOps and AgenticOps capabilities for model development, deployment, monitoring and lifecycle management. Deliver reusable model-serving and inference services, orchestration frameworks, APIs and automation for foundation models and agent-based workflows.
• Design cloud-native AI platform solutions using AWS and enterprise cloud platforms. Develop self-service APIs and automate provisioning, infrastructure, environments, CI/CD pipelines and deployments. Implement Databricks-based ML and generative AI workflows, including MLflow, model serving and workflow automation.
• Manage platform onboarding, migration, upgrades, releases, support and retirement while maintaining service continuity. Establish observability, incident-management and operational processes; address technical risks and ensure adherence to security, governance, quality, validation, risk-management and regulatory standards.
• Create technical documentation, reference architectures, standards, procedures and user guidance. Advise on complex platform challenges, evaluate emerging technologies and work with vendors and stakeholders on platform improvements. Communicate technical approaches and business impact to technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum requirements:

• Experience in AI/ML platform engineering, MLOps, platform engineering, cloud engineering or a related software engineering discipline; no minimum number of years is stated.
• Strong hands-on AWS, cloud-native architecture, Python programming and automation experience. Experience with AWS Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, SageMaker, Databricks, MLflow or equivalent AI platform technologies, plus APIs, infrastructure automation and CI/CD.
• Understanding of production model deployment, inference, lifecycle management, observability, reliability, security controls and governance. Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder-management and communication skills, with experience in Agile, DevOps and product-oriented delivery environments.
