About this role
The Senior Scientist, Scientific Computing will provide technical and scientific computing support to advance statistical and strategic innovation, automation, and reproducibility within the Statistics & Decision Sciences (SDS) function. This role is responsible for owning the AI/ML layer end-to-end, from architecture and evaluation to cloud infrastructure management. Key responsibilities include designing and building RAG pipelines, agent workflows, and prompt/context strategies, as well as maintaining CI/CD pipelines and development environments. The role also involves supporting scientific software packages, High Performance Computing (HPC) hardware, and ensuring compliance with GxP standards. Qualifications include a PhD in a quantitative field or a Master’s degree with 3 to 5 years of software/ML engineering experience, including at least 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience with LLMs in production. Candidates must possess strong Python skills, proficiency in R, and experience with LLM APIs and agent frameworks. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), containerization, and setting up MCP servers is required. The role requires strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for drug research and development partners and the ability to supervise contractors and interns.
