Senior Director

Axtria is seeking a Senior Director to lead its Data Science practice for pharma commercial analytics. This role involves driving delivery excellence, client partnership, and hands-on solutioning across predictive modelling, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI. The incumbent will act as the senior-most Subject Matter Expert (SME), setting technical direction, building reusable IP, and mentoring a large team of data scientists while owning delivery accountability for pharma clients.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of data science engagements, ensuring quality, timelines, and business impact.
• Manage senior client stakeholders (D/ED/VP/CxO level) to build trusted advisory relationships.
• Lead, mentor, and scale a large team of 30+ data scientists.
• Partner with sales teams on pre-sales, solutioning, and proposal development.
• Architect and review solution designs for complex analytics problems including patient journey analytics, forecasting, and recommendation engines.
• Drive adoption of Generative AI and Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LLM-based copilots, RAG pipelines, multi-agent orchestration).
• Guide teams on MLOps/LLMOps practices.

Requirements

• 15+ years of overall experience in Data Science/Advanced Analytics, with at least 5+ years in Pharma commercial analytics.
• Demonstrated hands-on capability in predictive modelling, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI.
• Proven experience managing large data science teams (30+ associates).
• Strong track record of client relationship management with top pharmaceutical/life sciences companies.
• Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
