The International Machine Learning team at Amazon is seeking an Applied Scientist to join the International Emerging Stores (IES) group. This role focuses on developing and deploying advanced machine learning and statistical solutions to optimize business processes, improve customer experience, and drive automation across international markets including India, MENA, the Far-East, and LatAm. Key responsibilities include analyzing large-scale historical data, designing and evaluating scalable ML models, and collaborating with software engineering teams to drive real-time implementations. The successful candidate will work closely with business partners to identify opportunities for ML intervention, establish automated processes for model validation and maintenance, and provide technical leadership through project management and mentoring. Basic qualifications include proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, and experience with SQL and RDBMS or Data Warehouse systems. Preferred qualifications include experience implementing algorithms using both established toolkits and custom code, as well as a track record of publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
