Associate- PEG (AI Solutions Engineer)

Bain & Company is hiring an Associate- PEG (AI Solutions Engineer) in New Delhi for its BCN Private Equity Group Center of Excellence. The permanent full-time role supports internal tool development and client case delivery, helping global teams address private equity investment questions through practical AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain LLM-powered applications, particularly using OpenAI models. Develop Python API integrations for summarization, classification, extraction, reasoning and workflow automation.
• Create reusable prompt frameworks and AI agents that coordinate multi-step workflows, tool calls, and structured and unstructured data. Build evaluation sets, guardrails and regression checks to monitor output quality and reliability.
• Work with consultants and case teams to turn business problems into AI solutions; assess emerging frameworks and tools; and support planning and solution design.
• Deliver secure, robust, documented solutions aligned with engineering and governance standards. Explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to knowledge sharing and internal training.

Required qualifications

• Strong Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript programming; hands-on use of LLM APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic; experience building LLM-based agents, workflows or automation tools; and understanding of context engineering and LLM limitations.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, data structures, basic algorithms, software engineering practices and Git. Strong analytical, problem-solving and English communication skills, with the ability to work amid evolving requirements.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field, with strong academic credentials. Applicants with an undergraduate degree need 2–4 years of experience in software development, AI engineering or related roles; those with a postgraduate degree need 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications include LangChain or LlamaIndex; vector databases and embeddings such as FAISS, Pinecone or Chroma; basic machine learning and NLP; Angular, React or HTMX; AWS, Azure or GCP; and experience with internal tools, prototypes, dashboards or technical documentation. Prior consulting, analytics or business problem-solving exposure is preferred but not mandatory.
