About this role
The AI Tech Lead will establish and lead SITA for Aircraft’s AI capability, building an engineering team and delivering production-ready solutions that improve productivity, efficiency and automation. This hands-on leadership role combines solution development, people management and engagement with business and technology stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Identify, assess and prioritize AI use cases with business teams. Lead the design and implementation of AI agents, copilots and automation solutions; drive adoption, promote reuse, and report on usage, productivity gains and business outcomes.
- Contribute directly to architecture and development. Guide the team through building, testing, deployment, monitoring and operation; resolve complex technical and production issues; and establish engineering and support practices. Create reusable AI frameworks, components and accelerators.
- Build, mentor and develop the AI engineering team, define practitioner skills and development plans, and encourage ownership of solutions and outcomes.
- Work with Architecture, Security, Data, Platform and Governance teams to meet enterprise security, governance and data management standards. Establish production support and monitoring, and ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable and cost-effective.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline. Requires 12+ years in software engineering, technology, automation or related technical fields, including 3–5 years working with AI, Generative AI, AI automation, agents, copilots, LLMs or Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions.
- Requires hands-on technical leadership and experience taking AI solutions from proof of concept to production; experience with cloud platforms, APIs, DevOps and enterprise production environments; and understanding of AI security, governance, data management and responsible AI. Stakeholder management, communication, collaboration and delivery of measurable business outcomes are important. The posting also calls for experience establishing or scaling an AI capability, implementing enterprise assistants or agents, integrating AI into business processes and platforms, and a background in automation, DevOps, IT operations or service management. Experience in aviation or another operationally intensive industry is listed.

Work from home is available up to two days per week, depending on team needs, with flexible workdays and up to 30 days per year working from another location.
