AI Advisory and Governance Lead

IDinsight seeks a senior leader to develop its AI Advisory practice for government and social sector clients in India. The role combines AI and governance advisory, client-facing delivery, and business development. The position is based in IDinsight’s Delhi office; candidates should be willing to relocate or travel substantially, often on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Advise government partners on designing and deploying AI-native tools, data systems, and digital platforms, accounting for data governance, procurement, interoperability, and adoption constraints in Indian government settings. Help develop AI policies, regulations, governance frameworks, and capacity-building approaches, and turn broad questions into actionable recommendations.
• Develop new government AI advisory engagements through stakeholder relationships, lead conversion, and proposals. Represent IDinsight in senior meetings, workshops, consortium discussions, publications, and sector events.
• Grow AI advisory and evaluation work with NGOs, social enterprises, and foundations. Lead engagements to identify use cases, build, test, and evaluate AI-based products, and integrate them responsibly into client workflows. Design executive workshops, workflow redesign sessions, and training.
• Support financially sustainable delivery through budget review, resource allocation, and timely reporting to clients and funders.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of professional experience, including significant time in consulting, digital transformation, product management, or technology implementation, ideally serving governments, foundations, or social sector organizations.
• Strong understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations, AI agent architectures, and organizational AI deployment; ability to direct a technical team. Production coding is not required.
• Direct experience working with Indian government, ideally with ministries, national commissions, or large national programmes. Experience leading complex advisory engagements, managing senior clients, developing business and proposals, and managing technical and nontechnical teams is sought. Strong communication, adaptability, and entrepreneurial judgment are important.
