Senior Software Engineer - AIML

Kaleris is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - AIML in Chennai, India, to lead the architecture and delivery of scalable machine learning and reinforcement learning systems for global supply chains. The role spans problem framing through production operations, with a focus on improving throughput, cost, and service reliability.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end ML/RL platforms, including pipelines, training and evaluation environments, model serving, monitoring, and incident response.
• Establish data quality, observability, and governance standards for ML products. Optimize production workflows for performance, latency, scalability, and security, and ensure experiments are reproducible.
• Lead technical reviews and raise code and design quality. Work with cross-functional partners to turn business goals into model objectives, success metrics, and deployment strategies. Mentor engineers and data scientists and help set technical standards.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, plus 5–8+ years building and operating ML systems in production.
• Advanced Python proficiency and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow; expert-level experience with scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, and ML model development and evaluation.
• Experience building enterprise applications with Java and Spring Boot; a proven record of deployment on Azure, AWS, or GCP; and strong Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD skills. Hands-on experience monitoring ML services, detecting drift, setting alerts, and responding to incidents.

Preferred qualifications

• Discrete-event or agent-based simulation, queueing or stochastic modeling, and real-world reinforcement learning.
• MLOps experience with model versioning, experiment tracking, automated retraining, and governance; logistics or supply-chain experience; and optimization in complex or partially observable environments.
• Serverless functions and event-driven architectures for low-latency model APIs, including Knative, Azure Functions, or AWS Lambda.
