About this role
Senior individual contributor role delivering production-grade machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI solutions for business use, from requirements and design through development, validation, deployment, monitoring and improvement. The position is based in Chennai and designated Office Working; employment is described as permanent.
Responsibilities
- Translate business goals into scalable AI systems supporting predictions, recommendations, search and growth strategies. Work with structured and unstructured data, selecting appropriate algorithms, software, hardware and integration methods. Apply NLP, computer vision, classification, clustering, deep learning, optimisation, and supervised and unsupervised learning as appropriate.
- Establish efficient, automated processes for data analysis, model development and validation. Deliver agreed scope to schedule and quality standards, then monitor performance, identify degradation or control gaps, and improve deployed solutions.
- Build governed agent workflows with tool calling, retrieval and memory, sandboxed execution, policy and approval controls, tracing, telemetry and automated evaluations. Test for reliability, security and production readiness; implement audit trails, role-based access control and regulatory controls. Use guardrails against hallucinations, unsafe actions, data leakage and compliance violations, and escalate risks with remediation plans.
- Use AI-assisted software development practices, including coding agents, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, specification-driven development and open specification workflows. Provide technical direction and mentoring, and collaborate with engineering, product, design, infrastructure and programme teams.
Qualifications and skills:
- Requires 8–12 years of relevant hands-on machine learning and software engineering experience, including enterprise AI/ML development, validation, deployment and improvement; a master's degree specialising in Technology; and English.
- Must-have skills include ML, NLP and computer vision solution engineering; enterprise ML and GenAI delivery; and agentic AI harness engineering, tool use, retrieval and evaluation. Other listed skills include Responsible AI, security, model governance, observability, software integration, stakeholder management and cross-functional delivery.
