About this role
Lead the engineering strategy, architecture and end-to-end delivery of governed agentic AI solutions for Standard Chartered Bank. Based in Chennai, this is a permanent, office-working role with accountability for measurable business outcomes, production adoption and continuous improvement in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team from discovery and design through build, testing, release, support and ongoing improvement. Set priorities, coach engineers, develop talent and establish clear ownership and delivery standards.
- Translate business, risk, compliance and regulatory needs into secure, scalable, reliable, observable and auditable solutions. Design and guide implementation of orchestration, tool calling, retrieval, memory, workflow automation, enterprise integrations, human-in-the-loop controls and sandboxed execution.
- Partner with business, product, risk, compliance and technology stakeholders on priorities, controls and adoption. Establish standards for code quality, reviews, documentation, automated testing, prompt and model evaluation, release controls and traceability.
- Ensure production readiness, including security, resilience, telemetry, incident response, rollback and operational handover. Manage delivery, technology, data, model and regulatory risks; embed responsible AI, data protection, access controls and governance. Monitor adoption, evaluation results, incidents, control effectiveness and business outcomes to guide improvements. Build reusable engineering patterns and AI-assisted software-development accelerators.
Requirements
8–12 years of relevant hands-on experience, including engineering leadership and delivery of enterprise AI/ML or agentic AI solutions in regulated environments. Must-have capabilities include agentic AI solution architecture, team development, delivery accountability, enterprise software engineering, platform integration and AI-assisted SDLC practices.
