About this role
As an XR Technology Software Engineer at Qualcomm, you will design, develop, and modify next-generation technologies and platforms for Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) applications. You will work within a cross-functional team to translate use-case requirements into implementation specifications and contribute to software design for integrated chipsets powering advanced mobile, XR, IoT, and automotive platforms.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hardware and software experts to define dataflows and HW/SW partitioning.
- Implement and validate embedded and cloud-edge software, applications, and utility programs.
- Oversee technical issue resolution, code reviews, regression testing, and issue triage.
- Deploy state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms into commercial XR products.
- Develop production-grade system architectures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 2-10+ years of experience (or 3+ years depending on specific degree path).
- Master's degree with 1-9+ years of experience (or 2+ years depending on specific degree path).
- PhD with 1+ year of experience.
- Expertise in modern C++ (11-20) and multi-core programming on heterogeneous mobile architectures (CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, tensor accelerators).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Experience with AR/VR, computer vision pipelines, and camera pipelines.
- Proven ability to conduct architectural trade-offs and power/performance analysis.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with embedded platforms like Android or Linux.
