Role Purpose: Apollo.io is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction across the entire engineering organization. You will own the most critical and ambiguous technical challenges, shaping the product's multi-year strategy as the company rebuilds around AI and agents. This role acts as a force multiplier, influencing engineering standards and mentoring senior talent. Responsibilities: Define and execute the technical strategy for the company's AI-native platform rebuild. Make high-stakes architectural decisions regarding reliability, scale, and cost. Drive engineering standards and patterns across the organization. Partner with product and engineering leadership to align teams on technical direction. Utilize AI-assisted development and agentic workflows to accelerate design and implementation. Requirements: Proven track record of setting technical direction that shaped a product or platform across an entire organization. Deep expertise in distributed systems and architecture. Strong judgment in making complex technical trade-offs under ambiguity. Demonstrated ability to multiply the output of senior engineers. Genuine, current fluency with AI-assisted development and a clear vision for the future of AI in engineering. Tech Stack: The environment utilizes React, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Python, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and GCP. Working Arrangement: This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore. Candidates must be comfortable with required overlap hours, typically Monday–Thursday, 8:00 PM–11:30 PM IST.
