Staff/Director – AI HW Product Management

Qualcomm India Private Limited seeks a product manager in Bangalore to manage AI hardware technology, including DSPs, NPUs and new memory architectures. The role contributes to Qualcomm’s technology roadmaps by translating real-world use cases into product requirements, aligning architecture definitions with internal business units and product teams, and advocating DSP, NPU and AI technology to customers and media.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market, customer, technology and ecosystem demands to identify gaps and guide product design. Lead development and validation of business cases for complex new products against the roadmap and business direction.
• Define and oversee complex products or new product areas, including their costs and impact. Work with sales on forecasts and with stakeholders and program sponsors on performance, cost, timelines, customer schedules and feasibility.
• Translate customer feedback and external developments into roadmap proposals. Monitor competitors and technological advances, identify product differentiation, and communicate plans to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Drive technical marketing and product launches through conferences and direct customer contact. Present complex product roadmaps to customers, and coordinate with engineering to ensure delivered products meet agreed KPIs and specifications.

Qualifications and expertise:

• Required: a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities or a related field, plus at least 8 years of product management or related work experience.
• Desired: strong knowledge of processor architecture and microarchitecture, including DSP, NPU and TPU architectures; emerging AI and generative AI workload requirements; and memory architectures such as HBM, PIM and WoW, including performance and implementation tradeoffs at IP and system levels. The posting also seeks SoC definition and execution experience, understanding of architecture implications for debug, toolchains and software platforms, familiarity with back-end power, performance and area tradeoffs, customer-facing experience, strong communication, and the ability to lead without direct authority.
• Preferred: 10+ years of product management or related experience; 3+ years in a large matrixed organization; 2+ years working with operating budgets or project financials; and 2+ years negotiating third-party business agreements.
