Sr. Gen AI Engineer

QualityAI seeks a Sr. Gen AI Engineer in Bangalore, India, to design, develop and deploy production-ready applications using large language models (LLMs) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). The posting lists three positions, a 12-month duration and an expected start date of 1 October 2026.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Generative AI applications, RAG pipelines and integrations with third-party LLMs and vector databases such as Weaviate and Pinecone.
• Apply prompt engineering, function calls, zero-shot and few-shot learning, and model fine-tuning for specific use cases.
• Develop secure, scalable RESTful APIs using FastAPI; prepare and process structured and unstructured datasets for model training and inference.
• Deploy, scale and monitor LLM applications in production; optimize performance for real-time workflows and integrate CI/CD pipelines with DevOps teams.
• Work with AI/ML engineers, product managers and cloud engineers; review code, mentor junior engineers and uphold coding, security, compliance and governance standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software development experience with strong Python expertise, including at least 1 year of hands-on experience building LLM applications, such as those using OpenAI or Anthropic.
• Proficiency in RAG, vector databases, LangChain, LangGraph, dataset preparation and transformation, REST API design, and microservices architecture.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP and their AI or data services; hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team.
