Software Engineer III - Python Developer + Prompt Engineering + Agentic AI + AWS

JPMorgan Chase seeks a Software Engineer III for its Commercial & Investment Bank in Bengaluru. As a member of an agile team, the engineer will design and deliver secure, stable, scalable technology products, including solutions that integrate generative AI models with enterprise workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot and maintain software solutions; build data pipelines that clean, transform and aggregate data from disparate sources.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, write secure production code, maintain algorithms and ensure code meets design constraints.
• Analyze large, diverse data sets, develop visualizations and reporting, and use findings to improve applications, coding practices and system architecture.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools for tasks such as code generation, refactoring, testing and documentation. Validate outputs through peer review, automated testing and secure coding standards, and share reusable practices with the team.

Required qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on software development experience with LLMs, generative AI integration and RAG; experience with AI agent frameworks, LangChain, LangGraph and document-based generative AI use cases.
• Strong Python expertise and experience with frameworks such as Django, Flask or FastAPI. Practical experience in system design, application development, data pipelines, testing and operational stability.
• Experience maintaining code in a large corporate environment, using modern programming and database querying languages. Knowledge of the software development life cycle, agile methods, application resiliency, security, CI/CD, machine learning and cloud technologies.
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI development tools and evaluating their outputs for correctness, performance and security. Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs and outputs, with the ability to guide peers.

Preferred qualifications include experience building enterprise generative AI solutions, experience with AWS or similar cloud technologies, cloud certifications, and familiarity with Java and shell scripting. The position is full-time with a day shift.
