The Core AI team at Microsoft is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Agentic Core Services Team. This role focuses on building the cloud-native, distributed platform that powers the development, execution, and management of agentic applications at scale. You will work at the cutting edge of AI research, integrating multi-modal capabilities into real-world agentic applications while establishing operational standards for enterprise-grade AI. Responsibilities: - Design and implement code for products, services, or features. - Collaborate with architects to build and modify platform components. - Contribute to design documents and refine product features based on analysis. - Build foundational capabilities and reusable building blocks to accelerate team velocity. - Engage with customers to capture feedback and refine product messaging. - Drive operational excellence for large-scale distributed systems, including leading root cause analyses (RCAs) for live site incidents. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. - 3+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. - 3+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production-grade software and services at scale. Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated expertise in distributed systems, AI/ML infrastructure, developer platforms, or cloud services. - Experience engaging with customers during integration or deployment phases. Other Requirements: - Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
