Software Eng Tech Lead

The Software Eng Tech Lead will own the technical direction of a squad within the Trintech AI Platform, focusing on either the Agent Stream or the Platform Team. This role involves leading design sessions, making technical trade-offs, and translating architectural direction into squad execution while remaining hands-on in code and design.

Responsibilities

• Squad Technical Leadership: Define technical direction, run design sessions, challenge proposals, and ensure service design quality. Act as the primary interface between the Software Architect and the squad.
• Engineering Delivery: Deliver complex service implementations, review critical PRs, and manage CI/CD pipeline integration and observability.
• System Design: Lead high-level design sessions, manage cross-service interactions, and proactively identify architectural risks such as scalability bottlenecks.
• Mentorship: Mentor Principal and Senior Engineers through design reviews and actionable feedback.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with deep expertise in Python backend systems (FastAPI, async patterns, observability).
• Strong background in low-level and high-level system design, including distributed systems, failure modes, and data contracts.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, multi-tenant data design, and API governance.
• Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Understanding of security patterns like OAuth and IAM.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Temporal.
• Familiarity with AI-native SDLC practices and agentic workflows.
• Azure cloud experience.
• Background in building audit, compliance, or billing platform capabilities.
